Who we are
A Zanzibar-based civil society organisation.
ZFO is a registered nonprofit civil society organisation based in Mlandege, Zanzibar. We help communities make effective use of social and economic opportunities while strengthening the partnerships and institutions needed for lasting progress.
Our work centres youth, women, persons with disabilities and other groups that face barriers to opportunity.

To empower Zanzibari communities through inclusive and sustainable development initiatives that promote education, environmental health equity and socio-economic resilience, with a strong emphasis on advancing reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and the well-being of youth and marginalised groups.

The Board of Trustees safeguards ZFO’s mandate and strategic direction. The Organisation Director leads executive coordination, while the Programme Management Unit manages implementation, reporting and specialist responsibilities.

Registered and accountable in Zanzibar.
Zanzibar Focus Organization is officially registered under number Z0000125562, with registration dated 27 September 2021.
